Sowing In Famine

There was a famine in the land…and the LORD appeared unto Isaac and said, Go not down into Egypt…Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee…and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father…Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him. And the man waxed great…he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him. (Gen. 26:1-3, 12-14.)

There was shortage in the land. The economy was dismal. (Sound familiar?) And Isaac sought to evade the predicament by relocating to another country. But God told him to stay put, that God can bless anyone, despite any circumstance, no matter where they might live.

So Isaac stayed home and sowed his seed, despite the drought–and reaped a hundredfold and became very rich. In a time of famine!

Folks, don’t buy in to the media’s line that you’re going to have a tough year. God can bless you despite any situation. Continue to invest in your future. Pursue your dreams. Sow time, energy, and finances toward making your vision a reality. Sow seed in your land, for the Lord has sworn to bless it.

I believe you’re going to prosper this year. For as long as the Earth remains, the Bible promises, seedtime and harvest–both sowing and reaping, will never cease. Continue to sow good seeds and expect a bountiful harvest from God. For it was He Himself Who promised “none of them that trust in Him will be disappointed.” (Ps. 34.22)
