Suddenly, from Heaven

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly…from heaven…(Act 2:1, 2)

God is a God of surprises. He loves to blindside us with blessings.

At the top of Acts 2, the disciples were having a tough time. With the crucifixion of Jesus, Christianity’s popularity had hit a new low. To top it off, their leader had returned to Heaven, leaving them alone to evangelize the world. And yet what could they really accomplish without Jesus’ power and presence to help them on their way?

And so they gathered to pray…

Then suddenly, from Heaven, came the Power. The Holy Spirit arrived on the scene…and the world would never be the same.

You may be facing difficulties today. You may see no way forward from here. But don’t fear, God has surprises prepared for you.

Suddenly, from Heaven–Yes, blessings are on the way.

My God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in Glory is not just a financial verse. It’s a commitment from God that He’ll always be there to help you on your way.

The Power of the Lord is Present

Isaiah 53:5 declares: The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes, we are healed. Truly Jesus came to heal our hurts–and not only the physical kind. The Bible says that Jesus bore all of our sorrows and pains on the cross. I wrote a song back in the ‘80s that says it like this:

When Jesus the healer walked on this Earth, He touched the afflicted and healed all their hurts.
His hand was extended. His love was revealed. The power of the Lord was present to heal.

Today and forever, He’s still the same; there is mercy for all who will call on His name.
No matter the problem, His touch is still real. The power of the Lord is present to heal.

Jesus is here in this room. His glory is resting on you.
Filled with compassion, He knows how you feel.
The power of the Lord is present to heal.

If you’ve got a problem that’s too great to bear, reach out to the Helper, ‘cause He’s always there.
When night seems the darkest, His love shines most real. The power of the Lord is present to heal. *

And it’s the truth. God is looking down on you with love right now, asking “what would you like me to do for you?” As Jesus said: Whatever you ask the Father in my name, He will give you…Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. (Jn 16:24) So reach out to The Lord in confidence right now. The power of the Lord is present to heal.
