Friday and Sunday

24 Oct

Psalm 50:15: Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue you, and you will honor Me.

On Friday, they tortured Jesus. It was the darkest day of His life. They bound, stripped, and flogged and mocked Him. They pressed thorns into his head and nailed Him to a cross.

But on Sunday, He arose, wounds healed, clothed in immortality. Life swallowed Death. Sun scattered Friday’s black clouds.

Perhaps you’ve been dealt a crippling blow. Skies are dark and all seems lost, but remember this: it may seem like Friday night right now, but Sunday’s on the way.

Thanks be to God, who always causes us to triumph. (2nd Cor. 2:14) Note that little word always. This is God’s promise. All we have to do to receive it is hold onto it in faith.

Before long the Voice that shook the earth will shake your situation. Sunday will come and the Son will shine for you again. Surely as you’ve called on Him, He will rescue you.

Today’s prayer: Things may look bad Lord, but I will not lose my faith. I believe your promise and I trust you to come through for me. It may look like Friday in my life right now, but Sunday is on the way.
